From Joondalup Times:

A STUDY into the longneck turtle population in Joondalup was presented to the City on World Turtle Day last month.

The Friends of Yellagonga Regional Park commissioned the study and funded it along with the City of Joondalup and Department of Environment and Conservation.

Friends chairman Will Carstairs said the study, carried out by ecologist Dr Jacqueline Giles, would enable Joondalup’s wetlands to be better managed. Joondalup Mayor Troy Pickard said the City was working with Wanneroo and the DEC to implement the Yellagonga Integrated Catchment Management Plan.
